"#EULifeSciencesStrategy will be crucial for bridging innovation and regulation" said Irene Norstedt, Director of the People Directorate at DG Research and Innovation, European Commission, during the #LifeSciences4EU conference, organised by the Klaster LifeScience Krakow, under the Polish presidency of the Council of the European Union, which took place on 15–16 May 2025.
The strategy aims to speed up the safe development and deployment of life sciences innovations, ensuring that beneficial technologies are widely adopted. Ms Norstedt emphasised that promoting stronger cooperation between sectors would help build a more resilient, globally competitive European healthcare system.
During two inspiring days, leaders from Europe's life science clusters, biotech start-ups, patient groups and policymakers came together to explore ways to forge deeper cross-sector cooperation.
