Maurits Bruggink is a seasoned public affairs consultant with over 30 years of experience in Brussels and internationally. In 2010, he founded Ridens Public Affairs to provide tailored advice and strategic solutions to organisations navigating the complex regulatory and political landscape of the European Union.
He supports clients with in-depth analysis of EU policymaking and regulatory processes, and advises on effective engagement with policymakers, regulators, and international institutions. His expertise spans a wide range of sectors, including metals and minerals, information technology, retail, food & drink, toys, gambling sectors, postal services, sports.
Maurits has led multiple European and international trade associations across diverse industries, including e-commerce and horseracing. He has also advised several countries on their trade relations with the EU—both broadly and about specific sectors or products—and has represented commercial interests at the World Trade Organization, participating in two WTO negotiation rounds and managing several multilateral campaigns.
A Dutch national, Maurits holds a master’s degree in international Trade Law from Leiden University. He is fluent in Dutch, English, French, German, and Spanish, and also holds a certified ski instructor license.
